Since it's launch back in 2006, Twitter has become a leading pioneer in the world of social media. Nexus 5 - A New Blogger Template For Free Download

It's been a while since I've designed a Blogger template for free release. But after reading this excellent tutorial on Smashing Magazine , I was inspired to create something different: an ultra-customizable, HTML5 based template for Blogger. Nexus 5 is a one column template, with widgetized sections in the footer for any gadgets you may like to include. A wider, two column version will be available shortly for those who prefer gadgets in a sidebar section. This template uses many HTML 5 and CSS3 elements to create a more innovative design without the use of excessive background images. It does gracefully degrade in browsers which do not support CSS3 elements to ensure the greatest percentage of visitors will appreciate the full scope of the design. Here is a full screenshot of Nexus 5 as seen in Firefox 3.5 (my current preferred browser): Demo | Download Click the image for a full page preview, or simply visit the demonstration blog.. Uploading A Custom Favicon To Blogger (Updating My Blogger Template)

Favicon Back in June last year, the Blogger team enabled Blogger users to upload their own favicon to replace the default Blogger icon. Initially favicons could only be uploaded if they had been converted into .ico format, though it's now possible to upload a square-shaped favicon in .png.gif or .jpg format as long as the file size is below 100kb. I prefer to use this built-in feature instead of the methods I'd previously used to add favicons to my Blogger sites, particularly as the icon is hosted on the root of our domain (*.blogspot.com/favicon.ico or custom-domain.com/favicon.ico). Since I have updated my icon as part of updating my Blogger template , I've documented my method (and troubleshooting) for others who are updating their Blogger templates. Creating your favicon To replace the default Blogger favicon with your own, you will need a square image (or favicon) which is at least 16x16px and under 100kb in size. I opted for a 100x100px .png image o

Is Opera Incompatible With Blogger?

In recent days, those using Opera to maintain their Blogger sites may have received warnings that their browser is not compatible with the platform: posted details of browsers which would be supported by both Blogger and other Google platforms: Beginning August 1st, we’ll support the current and prior major release of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis. Each time a new version is released, we’ll begin supporting the update and stop supporting the third-oldest version. An Opera spokesman has told The Register that this is assumed to be an error and that there is discussion with Google about fixing the problem. Are you using Opera? If so, please let us know if you've been affected by this message. Your comments and opinions are most welcome.
